When you buy take-home dishes from Nourish Cooking you are buying food that is cooked with the freshest local and seasonal ingredients. This means it is brimming with nutrition. Our dishes our not just about convenience, they are about quality food that tastes fantastic, has great fragrance and is full of flavour. They have everything your body needs to nourish and replenish!
Our range of nourish meals are packaged in 500g packs. Only $18 per pack. Serves two. Ready to thaw, heat and serve and available from the Readers Café & Larder. Our dishes include soups, curries, stews and casseroles, pies and layered dishes.
Our take-home menu has staples as well as seasonal menu changes with ingredients that come from our farmers and local producers. To our range of take-home dishes we add pulses, lentils, beans, grains, vegetables, fresh herbs and aromatic spices. Available all year round, our take-home dishes mean you will always come home to an easy, tasty and nutritious dish. We recommend that you serve these dishes with a diverse range of vegetables and salads and add other food groups to make each dish a complete meal.
Freshly Cooked on Wednesday
Let us cook your dinner every Wednesday! Servings for one ($15), two ($30), or four ($60). Seasonal dishes that are freshly cooked on the day and available for pickup from the Readers Café & Larder, 3 Garnett Road, East Maitland, (East Maitland library) from 2pm – 5pm. Please contact us to place your order by noon on Tuesday and to arrange collection.
Fragrant Red Chicken Curry
A delicious traditional Sri Lankan chicken curry. One serve is large enough for 2-3 people, gluten free/dairy free.
Just add more vegetables and serve with steamed rice.
Lentil, Eggplant and Vegetable Curry
A lovely gluten free/dairy free/vegan curry for the whole family to enjoy. One serve is large enough for 2-3 people.
Delicious served with brown rice and quinoa and pickles.
Tamarind Beef Curry
Slow cooked beef curry with the sweet & sour tamarind juice, traditional sri Lankan spice blend and spicy finish. Serve with coconut and lemon rice and a medley of vegetables. Cardamom chicken curry: succulent chicken thigh fillets, flavoured with freshly ground cardamom, mixed with ground almonds, yoghurt and lime. Serving suggestions: Serve with turmeric rice and side salad toasted sunflower and pepitas.
Seasonal Vegetarian Curry
Vegetables in season cooked in a lentil or chickpea base in a traditional spice blend and a coconut milk sauce full of flavour and goodness. Serve with roti paratha and yoghurt and mint side dish.
Massaman (Beef) Curry
A classic Thai beef curry with spices, and fragrant kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass and ginger. Serving suggestions: serve with jasmine rice and an Asian slaw made with red cabbage, Wombok, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. Slow braised lamb shoulder with borlotti beans and seasonal vegetables. Serve with vegetable cous cous or fragrant saffron rice and cooked green vegetables.
Creamy Chicken, Mushroom, Bacon Pie
Creamy chicken, mushroom, bacon with seasonal herbs
Preparation – place the mix in a pie dish, covering with pastry and bake until pastry is cooked and the contents are warmed through (use a family pie dish or individual ramekins).
Serve with pasta tossed with seasonal vegetables.
